Here is the roof, looking north. Angle iron will go on parallel 2x10s and will be level. Roof has a 3 degree pitch to the north. I don't think I mentioned that roof opening will be 7 x 7. With the scope even with roof opening, Polaris is just above that Queen Palm. Yeah!
I'll have more as we progress. Hope to have it completely finished by Xmas, or NY at the latest. Can't wait...but fun watching the progress. My builder was referred to me by Dean at Starizona, and he is fantastic. He understands astronomy and has built a number of observatories around the Tucson area. I designed everything with the help of an architect friend and the builder has revised a few things so they work better.
